Hi, I’m Amos Yee. I write and make videos exploring how to create political change in Singapore. I’m not a political commentator that comments on every news story. I focus on political issues that significantly affect most Singaporeans (like removing National Service, freedom of expression, and taxing the rich and reducing cost of living). I also discuss the values and methods needed to be an effective political activist (See all my most important writings and videos here).
I’ve also recently started a political group, with the goal of removing national service in Singapore, and using most of the money that’s been wasted on the military, to make housing, healthcare and food more affordable.
Right now, most Singaporeans feel like they’re stuck in miserable schools and work, constantly striving for useless college degrees or to pay off their overpriced HDBs. Singaporeans are unhappy slaves to the PAP dictatorship, and they are too afraid to speak up because of hate and imprisonment.
But I have never let fear stop me from speaking up, even after being arrested in Singapore multiple times for my political opinions. I strive to create a more compassionate Singapore Government, that prioritises reducing suffering over gaining power. And I strive to create a Singapore that doesn’t destroy itself because of its obsession with stability, social status and money. I want to eliminate poverty, and for all Singaporeans to be free, happy, loving, and to reach their full potential.
